This page illustrates just about all the aspects of horse photography that I have grown to love.  New foals top the list and New Foal Napping with Moms should explain why.  Performing horses are a blast to photograph because photos like Horse at Jumping Event are possible.

The basic horse photo may look simple enough, examples being Arabian Yearling in Viewing Pen, Arabian Mare Angel and Arabian Mare and Superstition Mountains.  What many of you don't know about is the hours of bathing, clipping and grooming the horses go through before they can look this good.  It is all the hard work, not shown in the photos, that make the photographs good.  While the horses are getting a makeover, while someone is busting her tail to make them look their best, I'm usually doing something extremely important like cleaning my camera lens.

Another of my thrills in horse photography is catching them with all four hoofs off the ground, this can be seen in the Flying Pinto Stallion photo.
